Five-Day AI Educator Bootcamp to equip faculty with future-ready teaching skills organised at Shoolini Univ

A five-day-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP), titled "AI Educator Bootcamp", orgnised jointly by the Shoolini Centre for Distance and Online Education (SCDOE) and the Shoolini Learning and Development Centre (SLDC) to help faculty members develop practical skills in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

Addressing the inaugural session, Shoolini University Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla encouraged faculty members to embrace technological advancements and continuously upgrade their teaching practices to meet the changing needs of higher education.

Prof. Ashish Khosla, President, AI and Innovation, Shoolini University, spoke about the growing role of artificial intelligence in education. He explained the fundamentals of AI and highlighted the importance of using technology to improve teaching and learning rather than replacing it.

Prof. Amar Raj Singh Suri, Director, Shoolini Centre for Distance and Online Education (SCDOE), delivered a session on "The Agentic Frontier", where he explained how artificial intelligence has evolved from generating text to performing complex tasks through autonomous decision-making systems. He also discussed the opportunities these developments offer in education and research.

The first day of the programme included technical sessions that combined theory with practical learning. Er. Navneet Jaswal conducted a session titled "The Evolution of AI: From Symbolic Systems to Generative Intelligence", where he traced the development of artificial intelligence from its early stages to modern generative AI models. He also explained how AI applications are being used across different academic disciplines.

Later in the day, Prof. Amar Raj Singh Suri conducted a hands-on session on practical AI tools. He demonstrated advanced prompting and meta-prompting techniques and trained participants to create structured prompts, define instructions and constraints, and develop prompt libraries for use in teaching, research, and academic administration.

Prof. Ashish Khosla, President, AI and Innovation, Shoolini University, said that the bootcamp had been designed as a no-coding-required programme, making AI tools accessible to faculty members from all academic backgrounds.
