NEXTGEN Begins Two-Day CDC and Club Launch Programme at APG Shimla University
APG Shimla University on Monday commenced a two-day event titled “CDC and Club Launch by NEXTGEN,” aimed at strengthening students’ communication skills, enhancing confidence, and preparing them for professional careers. The initiative reflects the university’s continuous commitment to holistic student development and industry readiness. The second day of the programme is scheduled to be held on March 24.
The event began with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Raksha, who highlighted the significance of career development initiatives and student engagement platforms in today’s competitive environment. This was followed by a formal felicitation ceremony, where the chief guests, Ms. Triveni Nagar and Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary, were honoured for their valuable presence and contribution. The honours were presented by Mr. Yogesh Banyal, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, along with Dr. Reetika Thakur, Head of the Department of Management.
The programme witnessed the presence of several distinguished faculty members from both departments, including Ms. Raksha Devi, Mr. Shubham Chauhan, Mr. Mohit Kalyan, Mr. Pranav Sharma, Mr. Ajay Kumar, Ms. Pritika Tomar, Mr. Bhuwnesh Kumar, Ms. Vanshika Thakur, Ms. Madhavi Sharma, and Mr. Chander Prakash. Their active involvement reflected strong academic support and encouragement for student-centric initiatives.
A key highlight of the first day was the series of interactive sessions and mock interviews conducted for students. These sessions provided practical exposure to real-world professional scenarios, enabling participants to understand industry expectations and improve their performance in recruitment processes. Students actively engaged in these activities, gaining insights into effective communication, personality development, and essential career skills. The sessions were designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional requirements.
The upcoming second day of the programme will mark the official launch of four dynamic student clubs—Impact Nexus Club, AlumConnect Club, NextGen MergeMind Club, and Student Ambassadors Club. These clubs are envisioned as platforms to foster leadership qualities, teamwork, networking, and innovation among students. Each club aims to create opportunities for collaboration, skill enhancement, and meaningful engagement beyond the classroom.
The event has witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines, demonstrating their eagerness to learn, grow, and adapt to evolving career landscapes. Such initiatives play a crucial role in nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with both academic knowledge and practical competencies.
Overall, the “CDC and Club Launch by NEXTGEN” programme stands as a significant step towards empowering students and promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence at APG Shimla University.
