Rotary Club won All-Rounder Trophy of Rotary International District

Rotary club Hamirpur won All-Rounder trophy alongwith nine awards in annual award function of Rotary International district 3070 held at Ludhiana yesterday.
Dr. Bhagwati Prashad Sharma president of club here said that apart from All Rounder Trophy he was also awarded with best President award. He said that the club received awards for community outreach programme, Flood Relief Activities, Foundation donation Award and distinguished club Award. He added that Rtn Rakesh Thakur and Rtn Rajeev Sharma were awarded with best Assistant Governor Award and Excellence Rotarian award respectively. Rtn Sandeep Sharma and Rtn Pardeep Kumar were decorated with Distinguished medal for welfare services. Dr. Sharma said that cince its inception in 1985, it is the first time that club has emerged as overall winner. He said that club supported Landslide affected people at Chabutra, rain affected people at Bhoranj, besides helping many people with financial support for disease treatment, House reconstruction, financial aid for marriage of poor girls, as well as establishing hand wash stations in schools of in the distrcit. Tha club has also actively participated in Drug abuse awareness program, plastic waste removal program and Pulse polio program of district Administration.
He said that the club would continue its welfare programmes with more energy as the awards had added more responsibility to the Rotarian Team.
