BJP State Co-Incharge Sanjay Tandon paid a cordial visit to Himachal Pradesh's popular leader and former Chief Minister, Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal, at his residence. On this occasion, Tandon said that Professor Dhumal's public life is an excellent example of simplicity, transparency, and dedication to public service. His perspective on issues of Himachal Pradesh's development, organizational strengthening, and national interest has always been clear, visionary, and inspiring. He said that the company of such senior leadership is a source of inspiration for all of us.
Referring to the Union Budget 2026-27, Sanjay Tandon said that the central government has proposed the conservation of temples and monasteries, the construction of pilgrimage centers, and the development of transportation and other facilities in the northeastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. He said that India will host the "Global Big Cat Summit" for the first time, with leaders and ministers from 95 countries participating. This event will further strengthen India's global leadership in the field of eco-friendly tourism.
He stated that five major tourist centers will be developed in the northeastern states and 4,000 e-buses will be operated for transportation. Five regional medical centers are also proposed to establish India as a global hub for medical tourism. Fifteen archaeological sites, including Lothal, Dholavira, Rakhigarhi, Adichanallur, Sarnath, Hastinapur, and Leh Palace, will be developed as vibrant and experiential cultural destinations.
Tandon stated that Himachal Pradesh itself is a major tourist destination, and the central government has continuously implemented numerous plans to promote tourism. If the Himachal Pradesh government works in accordance with the central government's guidelines, the state can reach new heights in the tourism sector. He said, "Where there is a will, there is a way"—if both policy and intention are clear, no one can stop Himachal from reaching new heights in the field of tourism and cultural development.
Sanjay Tandon expressed confidence that through coordinated efforts between the central and state governments, Himachal Pradesh will gain a stronger identity not only on the national but also on the global tourism map.
