The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission convicted two operators of Hare Krishana Art with fine of 50000 each with imprisonment of one year for not addressing complaints of buyer and providing after sale support here today. Notably Suneet Agnihotri purchased a router machine from Hare Krishana Arts of Ludhiana in Punjab in 2015 that did not worked properly and despite repeated requests made by the buyer the seller did not provided relief.
Suneet Agnihotri said that he approached consumer court within two months and in 2019 consumer court ordered the supplier Vinod Kumar owner of the company to replace the machine or refund the cost of the machine Rs. 8.16 lac with nine percent interest. He said that the court also ordered to pay Rs. 200 daily for delay in making the payment but he did not received payment and later Vinod Kumar died and his wife and sons Nitish and Naman refused to take the responsibility of the liability.
Vivek Sharma advocate of Suneet Agnihotri said that District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has sentenced the new owners and successors of the Ludhiana based firm ‘Hare Krishna Arts’ to one year of simple imprisonment each, along with a fine under Section 72 of the Consumer Protection Act. The commission also added to honour the orders of the commission of 2019 that made them liable to make the refund the cost of the machine with interest and cost of delay to be calculated at Rs. 200 per day.
